Description:

Set of 2 Bayonets on Wood Plaque Militaria Wall Display

Welcome To My Auction

I have up for Auction... A Set of 2 Bayonets on Wood Plaque. The longer bayonet is either a Wilkinson or Paterson? it is hard to read but it does have stamped above the names the numbers 3. 97 and what appears to be a crown above that. On the opposite side of the blade it is stamped with an arrow pointing up, and below that are the letters WD then below again is what looks like another crown with the numbers 35 with a W below that. Finally under all this is an X. On the Bayonets Pommel are the letters W A R with the numbers 1358 I have been told that this bayonet had definately seen service during the first world war.  The Second smaller Bayonet is of unknown Origin. Both Bayonets are in a well used conditions. All in all it would make a Great Militaria Wall Display.  Please refer to the photos as they form part of the description.

These items altogether weigh 1740 gm approximately unpacked and measure

Display Plaque 51.5 cm High x 31 cm Wide x 1 cm Deep

Long Bayonet: 42 cmLong

Short Bayonet: 41 cm Long (in Scabbard)

Thanks for Looking and Happy Bidding
