Beware other “Spirograph Pens” suppliers who just want to make a buck but don’t really care about your happiness. They claim that their pens “work perfectly with the small holes on the Spirograph Wheels” but this is actually not true. In our tests, their pens MAY FIT INTO THE HOLES OF THE SPIROGRAPH GEARS BUT THEY FIT SO TIGHTLY THAT THERE IS NO ROOM FOR PLAY! This means that their pens create friction as you attempt to draw, which results in errors and frustrating skipping and mistakes. Although it is tempting to get their pens that write in 12 colors, you will most likely be disappointed!

What we are offering is a set of 4 pens. This set includes one red, blue, green and black pen to replace the original pens that came with your Spirograph. Included with each colored pen is the ink cartridge of the same color.

Won't any pen work?
No. The original spirographs require ball point pen tips. The problem is that the "modern" ball point pen tips are of a larger diameter and don't completely fit through the tiny holes of the spirograph gears.

Why Are These Pens So Expensive!?!?!
After searching for 6 months, we found a manufacturer in Germany that makes the original style pens and pen refills. So that is part of the high cost. The other part of the high cost is that we have to INDIVIDUALLY MODIFY each pen. The pen barrels that come from Germany do not allow the pen tip to protrude enough to work well in the Spirograph gears. So we have to carefully grind down 2mm of each barrel.  Indeed these pens are expensive, but it really is the best price we can offer.

Replacement Pens are for 1960s Kenner Spirograph.
The pen replacements that we offer fit the Kenner version of the product that was made between 1965 and 1969. The pens will ALSO work in the Spirograph Plus from 1983/1984. The only thing in that case is that the colors will be off. Those units had three pens: Blue, Red (Pink) and Orange, but at least you know that the replacement pens would fit!
