This mint condition print is one of the "Ruger 21 North Americans" series, a remarkable collection showcasing the talents of 12 top wildlife artists. This lithograph series was created by Wolfe Publishing in partnership with Sturm Ruger Company following the commissioning of 42 original paintings by 12 top wildlife artists. These artists included such world-renowned names as Leon Parson, Lee Cable, Tom and Greg Beecham, Gary Swanson, and Bob Kuhn. Other artists include, Michael Sieve, Dave Wade, Paul Bosman, Larry Wolfe, Gary Moss and Dan Metz. With two portrayals of each North American big game animal, the images in the paintings were engraved on each side of a one-of-a kind, custom single-shot rifle. Following the manufacture of the guns, the paintings were then used to produce a series of signed, limited edition lithographs of 950 general edition and 95 Artist Proofs.
The individual prints retail for $75 in galleries and many sell for much more on the secondary market.
Each print in the series realistically depicts one of the 21 most popular North American big game animals in their natural habitats. Tom Beecham created the original oil painting of Javelina titled "Javelina Morning". The image size is 14" x 20", overall paper size is 18"x24" and prints were limited to 950 signed and numbered by the artist.
