Description:
This auction is for a PLATOLUBE Motor Oil metal quart can in good condition! This can has a dent and scratch above the "500" - also, rust on the top and bottom as seen in the pictures. PLATOLUBE Oil was sold at Platolene filling stations based in Terre Haute, Indiana. It was manufactured by the R.J. Oil and Refining Company in Princeton, Indiana. This can with the checkered flag logo is from the 1940's to 50's. Terre Haute is the home of Tony Hulman, who owned the Indianapolis 500 Motor Speedway during this same time frame. This hard-to-find can will make a nice addition to your collection!
